Sometimes, when you are looking for accommodation abroad, receiving a reply from the landlord might seem like an eternity. Most landlords reply within 3 days. Unfortunately, some people forget to reply.
We encourage the landlord to write a reply always, but it is their responsibility to get back to you.
Three general tips:
Send a gentle reminder to the landlord that you are still interested. It will be delivered to them by email.
When you contact landlords, tell them more about yourself. Don't only tell them your name and your study or occupation; also tell them about your hobbies and interests, what you like about the city, what kind of person you are, if you have experience living with other people, etc.
Send out responses to 5+ listings. This will increase your chances of booking a place.
Please don't send any contact information, such as your email address or phone number. For more information on why and how this protects you, click here.
Good luck with your search!
