If something comes up and you need to change a booking’s rental period, this may be possible. Your landlord will need to accept your new dates, so we advise connecting with them before submitting a request, to give them a polite heads up.

In this article:

When can I change the rental period?

You can request to change a booking’s rental period:

  • No later than 3 days before move-in.
E.g., If the move-in date is 1 April, you can request a change up until 29 March (end of day).

  • No more than 105 days after booking confirmation.
If the booking was confirmed more than 105 days before the move-in date, you can only request a change in dates within those first 105 days (starting from the date of confirmation). After that, we’re legally obligated to send the landlord your first month's rent, and it’s too late to request new dates.

E.g., If the date of booking confirmation is 1 May and the move-in date is 30 December, you can request a change up until 14 August (end of day).

How to change a rental period

  • Go to Messages.

  • Open the conversation about the booking you want to change.

  • Scroll down until you see the summary of the property on the right side.

  • Click Change booking.

  • Adjust your move-in or move-out date.

  • Save.

What happens next?

You’ll see a message from HousingAnywhere confirming that your request was sent and the landlord has been notified. They must accept or decline your new dates.

If the landlord accepts, it may take up to 5 days to see the dates change on the conversation page. If they decline your request, your rental period won’t change.
