A security deposit is an amount the landlord takes from the tenant in addition to the rent. It can be taken if it’s unclear whether the tenant can pay the rent or to repair damages caused by the tenant during their stay. The deposit is not handled by HousingAnywhere and is paid by the tenant to you directly.

Usually, the deposit will be returned to the tenant when they move out, or you can integrate this so that the tenant does not have to pay rent for the last month. It is advised that the tenant send the deposit to the landlord after moving in. However, all deposit concerns should be written in the rental contract agreed between you and the tenant.

You can add the deposit to your listing by clicking the Edit button on your Listings page.
