Found a potential home? Here are 2 ways you can rent it.
Apply to rent a place
A rental application is an official request to rent a place. This is the fastest and easiest way to rent on HousingAnywhere.
To apply to rent a place, you’ll be asked to enter your payment details and pre-authorize a future payment. After you do this, here’s what happens:
The landlord will have 48 hours to accept or decline your application.
If they accept: Your payment will be processed and your stay will be confirmed.
If they decline: Your pre-authorized payment will be canceled and you will not be charged.
Your payment details are secure
We use Stripe as our secure payment system. Your payment details are never shared with the landlord or HousingAnywhere.
How do I apply to rent?
On a listing page, select Apply to rent.
Fill in a rental application.
Add any documents the landlord may require.
Add payment details to pre-authorize a future payment, if accepted.
Select Submit rental application.
After that, it's over to the landlord. They'll have 48 hours to accept or decline your application.
If the landlord accepts: You'll be charged the first month's rent plus Tenant Protection fee.
If the landlord declines: Or if they don't respond within 48 hours, your pre-authorized payment will be canceled. In this case, you can continue messaging the landlord or pursue other places.
Upon confirmation, your money will be automatically transferred to HousingAnywhere, where it's kept safe until after you move in, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.
2 days after your move-in date on HousingAnywhere, we'll transfer your first month's rent to the landlord.
Can I apply to multiple places?
Yes, you can apply to as many places as you like. Whichever application is accepted first will confirm your stay, and all other applications will be automatically canceled.
