The AI Guide is our new AI assistant that provides instant, 24/7 answers to common tenant questions about a property (e.g., "Are pets allowed?" or "What are the move-in dates?").

It's designed to act as a helpful first line of support, answering the basics so you don't have to.


How the AI Guide saves you time

The AI Guide's main goal is to save you time and improve the quality of the messages you receive.

  • Fewer repetitive questions: The AI Guide will instantly answer common questions about price, availability, amenities, and policies before they ever reach your inbox.

  • More serious inquiries: By filtering out these simple questions, the tenants who do contact you directly are more likely to be serious, well-informed, and ready for the next step.


The AI Guide's information sources

The AI Guide is designed to be a safe and trustworthy source of information. It cannot make up answers, browse the internet, or misrepresent your property.

It only uses information from two official sources:

  1. Your listing details: The price, description, amenities, house rules, and other policies you have provided.

  2. The HousingAnywhere Help Center: For general platform questions (e.g., "How does the application process work?").

The AI Guide will never promise anything that you have not already specified in your listing.


Ensuring accurate AI answers

The AI Guide's answers are only as good as the information you provide in your listing.

To get the most benefit from this feature, the single best thing you can do is keep your listing complete and up-to-date.

Make sure the amenities list is complete, the description is clear, and the house rules are filled out. This provides the AI Guide with all the correct answers, saving you the most time and ensuring tenants receive the right information.


Receiving messages from tenants

Tenants will always be able to message you directly. The AI Guide is designed as a helpful filter, not a blocker.

If a tenant's question is too complex for the AI or if they prefer to message you directly, they will always have a clear option to "Ask the landlord". When they choose this, their entire AI chat history will be sent to you. This starts a new, regular conversation with you and provides the full context of their chat. This way, you can reply directly without needing to ask them to repeat themselves.


The AI Guide is your new partner in managing your messages more efficiently. By handling the basics, it frees you up to focus on what matters: connecting with high-quality, informed tenants.
