We're sorry to hear your visa was declined, and that you're unable to move in. However, it is not possible to cancel a booking after it's confirmed, unless the place is not as promised.

By sending a booking request, you committed to the room financially. We are obliged to send the advertiser the money for the first month's rent if they accept a booking request , as they would have rejected many other interested tenants to offer you the place. The first month's rent will compensate them for the now empty room.

However, you can explain your situation to the advertiser and negotiate in good faith to see if they are willing to waive away their right to claim the first month's rent. Please keep in mind that they are entitled to the money, so they are not obliged to say yes. In case they do agree to refund you, take into account that the HousingAnywhere service fee is non-refundable.

Please send an email to support@housinganywhere.com if you are able to come to an agreement with the advertiser, so that we can take any further steps necessary.

Any questions? Please let us know.
