How does it work when HousingAnywhere asks for information to verify my identity?

HousingAnywhere aims to provide a secure platform for all our users. At the same time, we are required to collect and verify certain information from landlords and property managers to comply with European regulations to prevent fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing. We have developed a secure process for collecting your information while protecting your privacy.

How does it work?

Suppose you have not received an email from us with details on how to provide the required information. In that case, you will see in your HousingAnywhere account a banner notification to complete this verification.

If you don’t see the notification in your HousingAnywhere account, go to the top right corner of the screen, click on your name, and click on Payout settings in the dropdown menu. Then, on the left, click on “Verify identity”. Here, you can complete the form and save it.

After completing the verification form, you will get a confirmation email. We will review your information within 72 hours and may follow up if more information is needed.

Your payouts will be on hold and won’t be processed until your identity can be verified.

Do both companies and individuals have to go through the verification process?

Yes, we will ask for different documents depending on the type of landlord. An individual private landlord will have to share documents such as a valid government-issued ID, address, and other information if necessary. A company will have to provide more information, such as the details of the company, legal representative, and UBO.

We will send you an email (from our authorized domain) with a list of all the documents we might need from you. In that email, you will see the link to the form where you can submit this information. The form will also be available on your HousingAnywhere account.

Is it secure to share personal information with HousingAnywhere?

We value your online security just as much as you do. To collect this information, we use secure encryption like those used to transmit credit card numbers. The documents you share with us will be stored securely in an encrypted form. Only authorised employees can see your information to review and assist you if needed.

Our third-party databases handle this information according to our contracts with them. We work closely with them, comply with our legal obligations, and ensure that HousingAnywhere’s Privacy Policy is respected to protect our users.
